Merchandising is a complex of activities, held in the trade area, which aim is to stimulate sales of the given product, package or brand. It supplements by advertising and best serve to induce consumers to try a product. Merchandising can increase consumption of the product and is effective in offsetting a move by a competitor.
Statistics show that consumers leave for about 13% of their money in those shops, where merchandising has done perfectly. To say in other words, if supplier wiil care about efficient merchandisng of his production, he gets opportunity to increase his sales` expenses by decreasing competitotrs' sales.
